"Networked Urbanism" promotes the exploration of new tools that can become the catalyst to spark creativity and multiply the possibilities of interaction and connection among individuals in the search for more healthy and sustainable communities. The #networkedurbanism blends critical theory with hands-on practice, social innovation with urban entrepreneurship, and progressive thinking with community engagement.

Ecosistema urbano projects pay special attention to 3 main topics in the redefinition of the contemporary city: environment, society and technology. Belinda Tato will present ecosistema urbano's latest works in Europe, Asia and Latino America, ranging from industrial design scale to Master Plans.

Belinda Tato is co founder and director (with Jose Luis Vallejo) of ecosistema urbano, a Madrid based group of architects and urban designers operating within the fields of urbanism, architecture, engineering and sociology. They define their approach as urban social design by which they understand the design of environments, spaces and dynamics in order to improve self-organization of citizens, social interaction within communities and their relationship with the environment. They have used this philosophy to design and implement projects in Norway, Denmark, Spain, Italy, France and China.

Since 2000, ecosistema urbano has received more than 30 awards in national and international architecture design competitions and during the last four years their work has been covered by more than 100 media (national and international press, television programs, and specialized publications) from 30 countries, and their projects have been exhibited at multiple galleries, museums and institutions. Founding partners Belinda Tato and Jose Luis Vallejo have led workshops, lectured and taught at the most prestigious institutions worldwide (professors at Harvard GSD since 2010).
